So, a guy on a show designed to show off your intelligence is being chastised for being intelligent? Right.

Reading the article, I think the writer may have filled in a bit of the information themself instead... images like this are almost always captures not using an extremely fast shutter, but by leaving the shutter wide open in a completely dark room and using a remotely triggered flash. I wouldn't be surprised,…
Good article, but the Pentax 645D is by no means "legendary;" its sensor isn't even true medium format size.
If you're referring to the picture in the article, that's a double bass, not a cello.
I agree - given the opportunity he has, the photographs are pretty uninspired.
This doesn't change the fact that you're not in the picture with the other people... it just means someone will get a picture of you taking the picture...
Yea, on a second read, I see what you're saying now. My apologies!
Not quite - You've got it backwards. It's not the lines that the clef reside on that define them, but the clef that defines the lines. For example, French Violin Clef places the treble clef on the bottom line, which thereby defines it as G4. It's called a "G Clef" because whatever line it resides on automatically…
Charles Doswell III, a very famous tornado scientist, put it best: "The idea that moving one thing pane of glass is going to stop one of the most violent forces on Earth has a certain absurdity to it."
While I do agree that DST is more trouble than it's worth, attributing it to Benjamin Franklin is incorrect; he alluded to such a concept purely in a rant mocking the French. The first serious proposal was by George Vernon Hudson in 1895.
We should really switch to binary. Counting to 1,023 (base 10) on just your fingers? Badass.
Agreed. That's why studio monitors make the best speakers.
Forgive my noobness, but aren't we still waiting on a jailbreak for the iPhone 5?
It would be nice if there was a browser extension to take care of that.
Another reason not to use a hair-dryer: static buildup.
You're absolutely right; I was in the left-most lane of a four lane highway today and it told me to exit to the right (the first announcement) when I was seven hundred feet from the ramp in heavy traffic. I didn't even attempt to make it over.
If you're having trouble downloading, try (on your iPhone) going to any other Google app, then scrolling to the "more from this developer" or whatever tab and finding it there.
Ahhh that DOES feel better!! :P
That's definitely true. For some reason, those few flights I'm referencing were a bit behind schedule. On a totally unrelated note, I just have to say how pleasant it was to have a legitimate and respectful discourse with someone on Giz. Thank you.
That's a good point about printed books; I wouldn't be opposed to those being put away too. As far as the safety briefing, the last few flights I've been on have done it well after we pushed off, pretty much to the moment we lined up on the runway.
