It reminded me of a very good HuffPo piece trying to explain to Sanders supporters why reducing every issue to economics wasn't working to recruit black voters.

The current rounds on feminism and hijabs reminds me of the 19th century women's rights movement here and in England, which wasn't about voting. It was about economic security, giving a woman the right to keep her wages (rather than turn them all over to her husband, even if he drank them away while their children

I think it's the reverse: They have a problem with women. And this fits directly into the narrative "If a man laughs, he's a guy laughing. If a woman laughs, it's too often if she wants to be taken seriously; too rare if she wants to seem approachable; and of course a sign that she is constantly in the midst of a

There's probably 2 or 3 people out there who rank the nominees:
1) Clinton
2) Trump

837) Kaine

I think any theory that requires Trump to embrace being A Loser is out. But a publicity hound who stumbles into the nomination because he can't say "What is WRONG with you people" makes sense.

I think the following might explain it. (It is crazy, but that is a prerequisite for explaining this election).

It's worth noting that what Trump explicitly admires about Kim Jong Un is the ruthlessness with which he murdered or jailed any possible opposition to his rule.

My husband was there a couple of years ago, and came back mentioning the escalating tensions that erupted in the middle of his trip (SK plays rock music at NK, NK performs martial arts on their side) and I had to admit it had not even pinged the news here.

There was a good piece in The New Yorker some time back, interviewing a woman who defected from NK to SK, largely because her daughter did. It did a really good job at getting into the head of someone living like that—how terrible they felt about the eating tree bark because it was letting down the great leader. With

Yeah but France didn't attack the WTC.

Dead people don't get into twitter wars, then get confused and nuke Iowa.

I mean, listen to him on Kim Jong Un and Saddam Hussein. (With Putin, the three recent world leaders for whom he has expressed admiration.) What he likes about them is specifically that they crush all opposition by murdering or jailing them. Kim is just a young guy, but he had his uncle killed—Trump respects that.

Manafort was going to be a villain on Leverage, but then the writers decided his c.v. was too over the top for the audience to believe it.

There was a piece recently from a conservative shock jock type, that they did this. All that time telling their listeners about the conspiracy of the mainstream media, and now when they try to say "this conspiracy theory is untrue" their supporters point at how the evidence for that is only being reported in the

It seems that he wants to return to the Reagan years… but just the cold war, where we have our sphere of influence and the Russians have theirs. I don't think that's what Reagan fans miss.

"Literally."

Let me regale the young people in the audience with the following tale.

And that is why the rest of his campaign will focus on NY, Erie PA, and Connecticut.

I listened to him address the American Homebuilders Association last week. It was very odd. They applauded the lines about "jobs are good" and "the AHA should just be put in charge of running the country." But he spent a lot of time on his one precise number—the percent cost of a new home that is due to dealing with

From Silver's piece on the chance of a Clinton landslide (which was about twice as likely as Donald even winning):
