It is subjective, that's true…..and yet, there is a part of me that does not trust people who don't like Mulholland Drive. Yo no comprendo, man, yo no comprendo. ;)

LOL, thank you! And this is the perfect opportunity to tell you that your posts have been cracking me up all day, so thanks for that, too!

There is no denying that he can be very alienating in many respects. As much as I love him, I can't bring myself to watch Inland Empire again even though I can't compare that movie-going experience to any other that I've ever had. That film unsettled me so much that I remember being scared while walking to my car

He is just SO BORING. Especially in the second season.

Ha! I'm the reading-all-his-interviews/watching-his-weather-reports/listening-to-his-crazy-clown-music/almost-buying-his-coffee type of David Lynch fan, so I really don't get people who hate him. I lost respect for all the people in my life who hated Mulholland Drive. I mean, that's just crazy talk!

Jerry makes a fab pothead. His outfit was perfection. And I say this as someone who quite enjoys creative sojourns of a solitary nature (one of my favorite turns of phrase from the show so far).

I rewatched it over the weekend and it ended up being so, so much better having watched the first four episodes of the new season. I remember being sort of meh about it the first time I saw it, but this time it made so much more sense. Not enough money in the world to make me watch the garmonbozia scene in the movie

I hope so. I love Dr. Jacoby. He seems so sinister while being completely well-meaning at the same time. It seems like he's turned into a recluse over the years, which just makes me like him more.

In the second season of Twin Peaks, Ben Horne stays up all night watching old family videos of the Hornes breaking ground on the Great Northern, and the shovels they use are painted shiny gold. It made me wonder if Jacoby's shovels are somehow related.

I think the world is divided between people who get David Lynch and people who don't. Honestly, I feel sorry for the ones who don't. You have to have an open, abstract, adventurous mind to appreciate him and his work. He's definitely not for the control freaks amongst us. *shrug*

Such a great interview! Thank you for finding it. I just finished reading it. I love David Lynch so, so much.

Thank you! That is a deal for sure. I bought the original TP box set a million years ago and it doesn't even have the pilot. I had to buy that from some Chinese piracy outfit and all the actors sound like chipmunks. It's terrible. Might be time to invest in something better, though I imagine the sets that will come

Oooooh, I'm gonna have to find that interview! Thanks!

I have not! Where can I find it? Sounds like plans for tonight to me. :)

I was thinking the same thing this morning! All my shows ended last week except for The Americans, which ends this week. After that, it's Twin Peaks for God knows how long. I've already rewatched the four that have aired AND Fire Walk With Me, which now makes so much more sense. I think this will be a very rewarding

I think the Denise scene was more about Cole than Denise. The impression that I got was that Cole had used his early allyship with Denise to get away with choosing beautiful female agents many times before, and they had had this same conversation several times. Maybe a meta comment about Lynch's penchant for hiring

Anything is possible with Mr. Lynch, which is why four episodes later and Twin Peaks is taking up like 90% of my brain, lol.

I have a theory that the whole Dougie world is a dream place or half-way place, and not yet in the same universe as the Twin Peaks world. Silver Mustang Casino. Owls. Mulholland Drive references out the wazoo. Maybe?

I think the mysterious billionaire got rid of the security guard and all the people specifically to clear the way for the young couple to have sex because it's an integral part of the "birth" ritual that switches the Cooper doppelgängers. Bob Cooper knew exactly when the switch would be and created Dougie to take his

That is GENIUS about the Log Lady's husband. I hope you're right cuz that would be neat.
