The FSA consists of ISIS and the Al-Qaeda branch Al-Nusra. Recent developments have indicated that they have recently joined forces under the ISIS banner.
There is a difference between soviet conscripts who don’t give a fuck about the future of Afghanistan and people that are fighting for their homeland against imported terrorists. The Syrian soldiers have seen their beautiful home turned into a killing field by Whabi nutjobs. The Iraqi militiamen have lived through the…
The truth is that airplanes can’t hold territory and bombs don’t destroy ideas. Additionally, without forward air controllers on the ground picking out targets to support ground forces directly, something air power can adapt to with marvelous results, the real effects of such a bombing campaign remain highly debatable.
“Al Udeid’s CAOC stated that allied aircraft are guzzling roughly 4,000,000 pounds, or 588,000 gallons of jet fuel a day,”
That doesn’t do much for BAE or Ratheon’s bottom line though.

FYI, that’s why their landing gear is so far back and tall - so that these rocks don’t get into engine intakes. Talking of which, they have metal grates that can be closed while on the ground and open up…

They actually put state of the art ordinance on P-51s and Corsairs in Korea and they were kick ass CAS platforms. IMHO- if they brought back the old A-1 Skyraider(AKA Sandy)- modernized...Id be pumped.
Sweet AB shots. I wonder what the serviceability rate will be if they keep up the current mission rate, especially on the older Su-24.
Why drop something that costs $100,000 when something that costs $5,000 will accomplish the same thing.
Stealth is a classic example. Extremely expensive but has to fly at extremely high altitude to bomb small, relatively defenceless countries because as the Russians said ‘they look like flying buses on our radars.”
The espionage game is alive and is easier than it ever was. These days you can transfer blueprints for an entire weapons program in a tiny USB stick, take pictures or videos with a cell phone, or transfer gigabytes of data over internet in minutes. Having said that, I doubt that Russians are developing their new…

What failings in developing advanced aircraft and subs are you referring to exactly? The F-35 is not Russian.
