180 F-22’s is barely enough to protect the U.S. homeland. Heaven forbid we actually have to battle for our own skies. A dozen Mig-21’s armed with HOBs targeting and four R-73 missiles apiece could overwhelm through or four F-22’s through sheer numbers alone.

Do you know how many air to air missiles we had to fire at Saddam’s planes during the two Gulf Wars? Against planes without AWACS capabilities of any sort, or any decent ground control or electronic countermeasures, manned by poorly trained pilots?
