Can we stop for a second and comment on how weird it is that there are so many people arguing that a Star Wars movie was bad because it didn’t sell as many toys?

Solo actually lost a ton of money for Disney.
Force Awakens was the first Star Wars movie in a generation for kids, and introduced a huge swath of new characters. TLJ wasn’t. Is this really a surprise?
This I agree with.
TLJ was great. Audiences loved it. Critics loved it. It made insane amounts of money. It has huge amounts of devoted fans. It created an epic scope, several iconic moments and huge surprises that’s the kind of Shakespearean shit we haven’t seen in Star Wars more than once in a single film since the original trilogy.
Obviously Solo spooked them, but the movies Disney are cancelling were either Solo-related films or films that were similar to Solo in nature (ie the oft rumored Boba Fett film). While it’s possible some of those films could have worked, it’s not some shock that Disney is reassassing their plans. But that doesn’t mean…
Kennedy was the Star Wars Feige. Many of her choices honestly weren’t so far off from the Feige model — ie, hiring younger, indie directors with only one or two big successes under their name.
Meanwhile, at some random Boston bar:
The original actor intended for the part I think was Danny Devito, who IMO also would have been awesome, but Reynold’s marketing savvy and greater 2019 bankability makes him a much better fit.
I don’t like the term “viable.” Unless it’s an online game and online support has either been turned off or there’s no one playing online, does it matter if it isn’t selling units anymore?
IMO, now’s the time to buy it for those who haven’t already.
I never would have thought the NES classic would have sold half as well - most NES games are essentially unplayable by today’s standards - but clearly there’s a huge market for this stuff.
Just toying around with him a bit, I think he seems perfectly respectable without Arsene activated. It seems like he has some easy to land combos, good approaches, good air game and I really dig his recovery - even more so than the recovery with Arsene activated.
Yes. Countering is a thing.
Nintendo is trying really hard to do just that.
Cognitive dissonance is a fascinating thing to watch play out. One of our worst traits as a special, though.
“I mean, they did ban the tactic the ice climber main used.”
I played a druid in WoW. Everything fun and unique about the class was nerfed in some way because of PvP balance decisions, that had no bearing on PvE other than making a character fun. It pissed me off so much.
Every sport ever has had successful tactics that are “boring” for many in the audience.
A third string QB who can make it three years in the NFL before being cut gets a pension, a good salary for three years, some great options to coach and/or teach, and all without adding too much damage to their heads. Not a bad gig if someone’s just good enough to get it.
