I feel like the NBA has to fix this. It wasn’t always *this* bad — there were years in which well rounded teams who may not have had one of the three or four best players in the league could have a shot at winning, even if they were the under dogs. When’s the last time that’s happened in the NBA? The Detroit Pistons?

I mostly agree with this. Some of the individual characters have really nice stories, but there are so many characters going in so many directions, that sometimes it’s hard to care about any given episode. The first few seasons were much better and consistent than the last few, but it’s always been a problem.

It’s a nice idea in theory, but in pulling them all so darn far apart it seems like GRRM’s lost grip of the story as a whole and doesn’t know how to bring everything back together again (as evidenced by the fact that there’s been 2 books in the last 16 years after his first 3 books came out in 4 years).

This has always been my biggest problem with Song of Fire and Ice and GRRM’s decisions as a storyteller.

While Street Fighter’s fights would doubtfully be ‘legally sanctioned’ within its own universe (and thus perhaps meet the legal definition of battery), they’re fights that highly skilled, trained and powerful contestants…
