I was unaware that the college professor son of a factory owner is part of the “working class”.

So you’re an expert in alien DNA and the inheritance of psychic dreams?

I like how people get focused on how this magic power works genetically with cis vs trans folks (which is possible but besides the point) but are totally fine with the magical biology of only one person per generation having the power.

Brainy’s explanation that he learned Bro-speak from the movies, just like they did, was a brilliantly efficient statement about social construction of masculinity.

I’m suprised how watchable Supergirl is this season. I hope they stay away from giving Kara a love interest until further notice

Was wondering if people would take this issue with the political subtext. On one hand, I’d like to keep an open mind since this episode sets up the villain, for later episodes to surely deal with taking him down a peg. On the other hand, as I’m reminded when they try talking about computers, this show is & always has

I think Psi is also considered a meta-human.

AFAIK Psi is human.

Actually Pysh from last season was said to be a Meta.

This was a great review for a great episode, one the best perhaps of the entire series. I’m sure we all remember that Sam Whitwer from the Doomsday season of Smallville, and his powerful performance really drove this episode

The kryptonite dispersal thing would have worked better if they had just said it made National City off limits. They could explain that they’re in a valley so the kryptonite wouldn’t blow away. Supergirl could have been cooling her heels in Nevada somewhere until J’onn brought her the containment suit and it would

The physics observation is on point and something generally ignored by comics. In the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, a wannabe super type saved a woman from a burning building by jumping out an upper story window. He landed hard enough to shatter the pavement but he was only supporting her upper back and

For me the “alien” metaphor in Supergirl isn’t particular well thought out. Other than Kal-el and Kara’s stories, do we know why so many interstellar species have come to Earth? Since their space-faring technology is so much more advanced than ours they could have gone anywhere. So why did they all come the most

This might be one of the best episodes of the show

I find it highly interesting that an episode about everyday people being hurt during titanic battles between super beings is called "Man of Steel".

I was watching a reaction to this episode, and somebody said that Agent of Liberty is basically Batman from “Dawn of Justice”.

First of all, Kara is DEAD.
When J’onn grabbed her a meter from crashing to the ground it was basically the same as letting her crash to the ground.
A bloody blob should had been the only thing left into his hands..

Very interesting episode, especially cause we finally saw some of the consequences the Alien

I also loved the implication that the real villains of the destroyed home incident are the insurers who deny coverage on alien-related incidents, but it’s easier for Ben to be angry at the random aliens he sees day-to-day than a faceless corporation. So true to life.

Catco is one of the weirdest “news” organizations ever depicted on TV. But at least it’s consistently weird: last episode we saw how it’s the kind of place where an intern who’s been there for about a week can walk into the CEO’s office and lecture him about journalistic ethics and tell him what editorial to write.

The most unrealistic part of this episode was the university dean’s second appearance, when she complains that she lost her house and that things were bad because enrollment was too high and classes overfull. That’s not how university administration works, Supergirl!
