Fringe did something like that as well (in "Concentrate and Ask Again").

Oh, I'm aware of that. But the European titles are kind of convenient so that you don't say episode two and have someone think you're talking about the episode after the pilot.

I think 12 is their standard order.

At least watch through "Arbitrary Law"/"Episode 16" (the show's naming system is kind of confusing). The first half of the second season is maybe a little spottier than the first season but would still rank with the best stuff on TV today. You'd also be missing "Lonely Souls" which is one the best TV episodes ever.

Their movie selection is pretty goofy. As far as I can tell, most movies are commercial free and playable on all devices, but there's also some that have commercials and can only be watched on a computer, even if you're a Plus subscriber. (Koyaanisqatsi is one of those.)

The Roku app is the worst.

And the French film's untranslated title is Les Revenants, the same title as the French TV show, and was released in the UK as The Returned.

The first 3 seasons of Person of Interest is coming to US Netflix in the fall.

Per the Wikipedia article on it, the Alan Smithee pseudonym was officially discontinued in 2000.

Starship Troopers, The Matrix, The Fifth Element, Dark City. I kinda sorta defended The Phantom Menace's visuals down below, but I wouldn't even call it good for its era.

Seriously, Attack of the Clones might be the ugliest looking movie I've ever seen. Almost certainly the ugliest with a big budget.

I wonder how this system responds to me spot checking movies to make sure they're in the right aspect ratio.

Actually, skimming and ctrl f'ing through this 846 page pdf document I just downloaded, there doesn't seem to be any vampire stuff in it.

For some reason I just read the relevant part of the fanfiction version, and it appears to be word for word the exact same thing with no vampire stuff.

Is HBO showing it properly with the changing aspect ratios?

Also, most of their movies, including all of their Criterion stuff, is add free.

I'll throw out a mention to Gilles Mimouni's L'appartement.

I don't buy the budget excuse at all, considering

Apparently after Grindhouse bombed the studios were actually going after Tarantino for some work for hire stuff. But after Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained both making a ton of money there's no way in hell he'd take on something like this.
