@avclub-0ae7484a9f3bbd2a21df420050c032ae:disqus That's Lionsgate's money, not AMC's.

Watch the episodes alphabetically.

After this episode… kind of, yes.

I am really, really hating Britta/Troy. (I'm also kind of afraid I've secretly been a Britta/Jeff shipper all along.)

I really doubt AMC is making money hand-over-fist from Mad Men.

@avclub-2586d0717b58d4f4383144ca1341d079:disqus Maybe you could make that argument in other sports, but not really in football.

I hated the pilot and have since come around, though I don't love it quite as much as most around here seem to. So maybe there's hope?

Mile High: "I pretended to be in love with Shore Leave!"
Shore Leave: (irritated) "Oh, and I pretended to enjoy having sex with him every night!"

Having seen the first two episodes, I think Todd's observation makes sense. He leads into it with the thing about episode lengths, but I think it goes beyond that. It's possible to mess with structure and expectations within 42-60 minute episodes and using a recognizable cable drama framework.

I saw it with my family because Django Unchained was sold out.

Hmm. Interesting point, but I'm willing to let it go considering it makes at least a surface sort of sense and it's pretty necessary to cover the ground the show wants to cover.

Wikipedia says it was produced by Media Rights Capital. Maybe that's a go between or owned by the same parent company, but I don't think Netflix is officially the production company.

@avclub-c65a46c16b70bf886e62e791cd4a80b3:disqus They also did a year end top ten roundup where it finished 3rd ( http://www.metacritic.com/f… ). Granted, a lot of those were without seeing the finale.

I think it's partly intentional to trick people into watching repeats.

Eh, more solid performers than huge hits.

Tammy Baldwin just got elected to the Senate in Wisconsin. As far as I can find online she's religiously unaffiliated, and I don't recall it ever being made a campaign issue. Tommy Thompson (or maybe it was groups affiliated with or supporting him, I don't remember exactly) started to go after her for being a lesbian,

Actually, no. Last season was kind of interesting in a train wreck sort of way and was occasionally very funny. This season has just been boring.

"En Ami" was one of my favorites of this season, but I'll admit I hadn't really thought of the Scully angle discussed in this piece. I was just thrilled by the concept and thought it worked really well as a standalone piece of fiction.

Yeah, this was the first episode in a while where I didn't feel like I was just watching out of misplaced loyalty.
