They're both clearly referencing Dark City.

It wasn't so much about it being surprising, but rather about Peter losing what's left of his humanity. I wasn't a big fan of the episode overall, but I thought that moment worked.

I noticed the time discrepancy too. I just decided to pretend that time in the pocket doesn't move forward at a constant rate compared to the rest of the world, instead moving at close to a 1:1 ratio for an hour then all of a sudden jumping forward a few months or whatever. And then the characters got lucky and spent

I mostly agree with this, but I'll add that plausibility and world building in fiction is an art not a science. Some stuff an audience will buy or not buy has nothing to do with what's possible in the real world.

Keeping a terrorist and enemy of the state in solitary confinement 23 hours a day in federal prison is pretty low on the United States list of crimes against humanity.

That was my assumption as well. She might not have had a plan at all (when she agreed to go with him), and just decided to go with Saul as a lark and to get out of her cell. Hell, she might have even given useful intel if she had it for all we know.

VanDerWerff has said the writers have said the credits aren't necessarily canon.

It is a little weird, after four seasons of teasing out Olivia's superpowers, all of a sudden Peter gets to have full blown superpowers.

Not really a criticism of this episode, which was probably my second favorite of the season after last week's, but I can't help being a little disappointed they didn't come up with this pocket universe concept during the show's procedural days. Just because it could have been a lot of fun.
