Vigilante justice may be the only form of justice left.

There’s like a 90% chance that judge has sexually assaulted people himself.

Why does it feel like the judge is sympathizing with the rapist because he might be a sexual predator himself. Fuck people saying boys will be boys when it comes to sexual assault.

I actually went and read through the whole transcript. At no point does the judge even mention how difficult this must be to the victim or express sympathy towards her. There are mentions about 16-years old having access to alcohol and all that, because of course this douche would find that at the heart of it as any…

I hate mandatory minimums. I hate the cultural focus on prison as the only solution for crime and criminals.

Aside from all the other horrible things here, why isn’t it illegal for a judge to overturn their own convictions in order to bypass mandatory minimum sentences? Like, I disagree with mandatory minimums on principle, but this is simply not the way to fix them. Also, four years for rape in no way is too much…

He is a rapist. He is now free to offend again. This is not just about punishment, this is about how women are not safe in our society. Women are constantly told how to behave to be safer, but men are not stopped from victimizing women.

I have NO doubt, that judges that sympathize with rapists have done the exact same thing in their youth, never got caught, and also feel that it’s not wrong. Consent means nothing to them, so they cannot fathom that consent actually means something to people who are decent, and not rapists.

Old enough to own an automatic weapon. Old enough to be drafted and sent into war to kill and be killed. Old enough to pay taxes. Not old enough to be held accountable for their actions. Makes sense. (*oops- typo: “white boys are not old enough to be held accountable for their actions)
