It does a pretty terrific job of depicting mental illness as well as showing how intense and athletically demanding figure skating is. I second the recommend.

Yes and no. They wrap up enough of the season one plots that the end (which is a cliffy) still feels like one of those “open to interpretation” endings. It ends like they were planning for season two, but not in a way that ending it now really ruins it.

For me, Cliffhanger ends as soon as the opening titles appear. I’ve only ever seen the first five or ten minutes of that movie and it’s perfect that way.

This is what happened to me with Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I was much too old for it when I read it the first time and simply couldn’t enjoy it with the kind of adoration the fanboys/girls/people heap on it.

I’m with you. The first book was terrific. The second book got wonky real quick. Then the third... I just lost interest and never finished it. It’s the first book I gave myself permission to put down and I’ve never returned to it.
