I was curious about this and it seems that 40-60psi of sudden pressure can kill you but if it’s gradually applied it goes up to 400psi.

I read it was about 50-60psi if it is sudden, up to 400psi if it’s gradual Either way the sea pureed them.

I doubt that entered into their calculations at all given how cavalier they were about everything else.
