That’s the thing though. Americans really don’t. I’d argue the biggest difference between America and most western countries is that we TALK about racism more and are forced to confront it more because we have a larger minority population. While classism is strong in Europe, racial disparities in treatment are

By ignore it I mean do nothing about it. Imagine if a bunch of Red Sox fans threw bananas at a black outfielder. There would be stories for months. When it happens in Europe, every once in a while the US makes a news story or two about it and European people are just like “You don’t understand soccer culture!” or

Everyone should know that, but many refuse to accept it, or assume it was all solved in 1964 with isolated incidents continuing today.

Latin America is quite racist. Mexico in particular. In fact, so is the whole damn world.

It’s like the Avenue Q song says, we’re all a little bit racist. What matters is our willingness to examine our own, often unknowing, biases and to find empathy.

Considering the amount of people on twitter who think this is some sort of pro-racism sign, I don’t think their message got across very well.

It’s not that hard. The one defining feature of the American racist is how defensive they get when you bring up racism.

The only lesson to draw from this is that ESPN fucked themselves. If they had never allowed disingenuous squawking from clowns like Clay Travis and Britt McHenry to scare them into admonishing Hill, this issue would have never made its way into the White House press room. This mess is entirely a creation of ESPN’s

The asymmetry of all of this is best visualized by Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ face.

If Sanders considers accurately accusing someone of being a white supremacist to be a fireable offense, her mind will be blown when she hears her boss, a white supremacist, speak about his views on minorities. Egg on her face, there will be!

Hey, when things are out of alignment, you gotta give it a tune up. :)

I’m enjoying “tune-up” as a nice, civilized euphemism.

He’s also a snappy dresser. Look. At. That. I hear he’s still single too.

Boucher is seriously lucky he got to walk away. I’ve seen people in my hometown get a tune-up (or worse) for doing a lot less, even in broad daylight on a busy street.
