I actually really like LNWJF as a show, which is built expertly around Fallon's strengths, but yes, he got totally pantsed by Grodin (as did the audience, who clearly didn't get a single joke). I watched a lot of his epic submarine battles with Dave, and I can't help but think of how the other hosts would've handled…

This was the blackest SNL in years, in terms of content and general viewpoint - just about every single sketch had some racial element to it. I think that might have a lot to do with the response around here.
