I don't think Anthony Hopkins has actually acted for awhile now. He just shows up for a paycheck and if he's lucky he'll be in something good every once in awhile.

I've only seen the first season, but Ty Burrell is absolutely hilarious. I don't know if he deserves it x seasons later, but if anyone from that show was nominated I'm glad it was him.

To me Shameless is the exact type of show where it actually makes sense to have so many seasons. Stuff like Dexter and Weeds is more plot driven so it becomes convoluted after awhile, but Shameless is just a family drama/sitcom so it has a lot more longevity. Season 7 was the best since the 4th imo.
