And yet at the same time, he has the least character development of the entire cast. What an annoying character.

He’s literally GoT’s Negan.

Spot on with this comment. The strategy (or lack thereof) has especially driven me and my husband bananas this season. When we play board games, I often joke that I have no gift for strategy. But JMJ, the tactical decisions in this episode and last week made me want to scream.

Ok, but explain to me how that will stop Dany from burning King’s Landing? As I said, Dany’s army follows her because she’s herself, not because of any blood claim. So Varys says “Hey, Jon is King now!” and...what? That doesn’t do anything here other than piss Dany off further and divide the forces trying to depose

A big part of the “post book” problems this show has had come directly from them not knowing what the fuck to do with Euron. I don't know if they're trying to show how scary a good captain could be with this level of technology or what, but literally every time he's on screen the show is worse off for it.

Euron Greyjoy has thicker plot armor than Batman, Bugs Bunny, and Rick fucking Sanchez.

Why didn’t Cersei just mow everyone down during ‘negotiations’? Honor or something? c’mooon

This just felt like two different episodes. The first half was so strong and compelling, and then as soon as we have to go to battle again, it went straight down the tube. Splitting the already depleted force was dumb, the whole thing with Dragonstone was so ludicrously unbelievable that it left me dumbstruck, and

You’re assuming that the Night King dying in a rather simple, abrupt fashion isn’t what GRRM is planning, yet if we’re prefacing all this on GRRM subverting fantasy tropes, this is exactly the sort of thing that would happen.

I honestly enjoy that Arya is the one who saves the world. It feels like an arbitrary choice

and nobody kicked up a fuss about that

Being a “fan” of a mass murdering space nazi is a sad delusion.

So because people didn’t complain about what was then a niche character 20 years ago in Batman, nobody can talk about complaints with an entirely different character in a completely different series from totally different creators?

As a professional creator, authorial intent is absolutely a thing.

The way he throws a fellow writer in front of the bus, promotes his own “superior" storyline and acts like he just casually posted this make him seem like such a asshole.

“It was not our intention to mock her or anyone else.”

Perhaps you missed the patch notes? Those perks have been nerfed.

Enjoy the game!

I wrote this under a previous article about FO76 but this seems to underline my essential thesis:

Not if you find whatever you’re doing now to be more fun.

They raised the bar slightly off the floor and still didn’t manage to clear it.
