It was the same for me. I was only 17 and far from being mature enough, but it never occurred to me to talk about taking a year off before I went to college. Of course, having a father who was a college president played a large part in that.
Parents who let a college age kid live with them rent free are doing no one favors.
Sounds like one of my brothers. Problem is, he flunked out of college in 1976.
Right. You're gonna quote back even when it's not necessary and even when you've been asked not to, because you can't keep things straight and you think the rest of us have the same problem? Dude, you notice anyone else who does that? Do yourself a big favor and go with the flow.
You don't have to quote back what people typed. Most of us remember.
A Sony Reader doesn't need 3rd party software that takes 10 minutes to set up. E-books download directly into the software supplied with the reader.
If it works the way it's worked for Sony Reader the Kindle books will check out for three weeks. I've been downloading e-books for my Sony for quite a while now. The down side is that only a certain number of each book can be "checked out" at any one time, so you still have to wait for the most popular e-books to…
I wouldn't call it robust by a long shot, but for the minimal amount of streaming we do it'll be adequate for now.
That interface was clearly designed for a fast food checkout.
Our Sears Kenmore washer and dryer were purchased new in 1987 and still going strong when we replaced them last year. In fact, the guy who was going to haul them away and junk them actually offered to buy them from us instead. But whether all machines of that vintage are that long lasting, I don't know.
Bastard child of Napster and the Qwik-E-Mart?
I was going to keep both services, but not any more. I just moved everything I could move from the streaming to the disk service, will watch everything that's left on the stream queue this week and then cancel streaming. Amazon Prime for streaming from now on.
The water, detergent and electricity are part of the household expenses already, whether you've got diapers in the wash or not. With the plastic diapers you've not only got the cost of the diapers but the environmental cost of all that plastic, cellulose and who knows what-all else, plus disposal of human waste in…
No, you don't spend a crap ton of time washing them. You put them in a diaper pail, wait till the pail's full, pour the contents into the washing machine, spin out the dirty water, then wash like any other load of laundry. It added about two loads of laundry a week. And when you've got babies, two loads of laundry is…
I used cloth diapers for both my kids. They are 34 and 31 now and I still have a few of those diapers left. They're no more work than the plastic ones and you save a crap ton of money (more words to scare Pampers by). :)
"cloth diapers"
I watched all the Walt Disney shows on TV when I was a kid. My mom said we watched the Disneyland opening show, but I don't remember that. I built up a picture of Disneyland in my mind over the years.
I wanna go to Disneyland. :)
