It’s funny how many supposed republicans are for states rights, except when the states want to do something they don’t like.

Calexit would mean that they’d have a hell of a lot more revenue to play with, to pay for those things themselves. And, I do think Calexit is a possible outcome if CARB is prevented from regulating.
It is simple math. California’s state GDP makes in the 7th or 8th biggest economy in the world. It is bigger than Brazil, Italy, Russia and India as well as Canada. If your market is that big, the car companies HAVE to play ball with you.
I almost wonder if the EPA strangling CARB would actually accelerate Calexit. And, the thing is, I think there’s enough anti-California mindset in many of the red states, that the Constitutional amendment that may be necessary to allow California out of the union might just pass if it’s pushed hard enough.
This is regulation, not legislation. And everything the EPA does (or declines to do) results in litigation. Should the EPA decline to renew the waiver, California will sue, and the court will almost certainly grant its threshold request to freeze the status quo (i.e., leave its current standards in place). Based on…
Yeah man. I work with the EPA on regulatory issues. The EPA ain’t going to do SHIT to Cali’s state specific environmental policies.
3 Takata executives have been arrested. You could at least get the facts right.
You are wrong, but I laugh at “conservatives” like Pruitt who fought the power of the federal government and the EPA by using states rights arguments (the right to pollute essentially), turn around and say that California must follow federal regulations and doesn’t have the right to regulate emissions in its own…
Why would CARB lose? CARB states have enough market share to boss the automakers around.
Neutral: You have got to love politics. In the incoming administration has mentioned the importance of state’s rights on a few issues, but they will fight against them on this one?
I think that would be a relatively minor effect. Sure, gas stations within 10-15 miles of the border will suffer but people aren’t going to drive 20 miles out of there way to fill up on cheaper gas. The major drivers of the economy, San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose area, Sacremento and all of SoCal wouldn’t be able to…
Vw indirectly killed many more
fi you grew up in Los Angeles in the 70's and 80's, you would know why we need CARB. Just look at present day Beijing.
No they won’t.
No one lives in the desert near those borders
Hypnosis has different effectiveness on different people. Some people are extremely suggestible and others are not.
This picture isnt real. Theres a father in the picture. In reality he’s hooking up with another ho and not sending his child support in. Trump cant fix that.
how handy to have a bug that will dig its own ditch to roll into
Actually the art looks pretty cheesy (not to mention they have blank/dumb expressions) and the people look cartoonish. In short, I’m detecting poor, infantilizing taste on the part of the artist, he made them look cretinous almost, like “furry art,” except skinned, so only the imbecility, no longer the fur, remains.…
So about 80 million less that the fucking Raiders wanted from Oakland taxpayers to keep their shitty team in Oakland? At least FF pretended to be employing people.
