Maybe you should google “neo-liberalism” before you trash me for using the term.

Sure, Democrats favor a watered-down version of neo-liberalism, but it’s neo-liberalism nevertheless.

Perhaps. But Clinton is a hawk who would take a very hardline against Russia and has no compunction about putting boots on the ground (see Iraq War).

If Republicans were smart—if they were a rational political party able to act in their own best interests—they’d impeach Trump as soon as possible.

It’s well established that a lack of leadership is not an excuse for performing despicable acts.

The lack of battlefield discipline was not limited to a single squadron. Unlawful violence, aberrations from rules of engagement, mutilations, and disrespect of enemy casualties, actions that had been isolated at the beginning of the Afghan war, had by this point spread throughout SEAL Team 6.

By no means am I accepting of the behaviour, just that it isn’t shocking or surprising.

You want the SEALs to be killing hostages they’re supposed to rescue? Or killing people that they’re supposed to be capturing for interrogation?

There’s a difference between understanding and condoning. This idea that we can train men (for years) to hunt and kill other humans repeatedly and efficiently, yet expect them to draw some kind of boundary at mutilating a corpse is laughable.

I’m especially impressed at the reports that on missions where the specific goal was to capture people, they violated orders and executed them instead. They directly disobeyed orders, and it looks like they got no punishment at all.

The bigger issue is when other SEALs reported illegal acts, they were ignored or actively covered up by some of the leadership. This affects the ability of the unit to do its job because it breaks unit cohesion, lower morale, and if word got out impact the greater mission.

Well that IS a big arsed bell.

Off topic: does this video aesthetic have a name? In the last few weeks I was sent two different work proposals to do the narration for videos just like this one: lots of manipulated archive footage/photos, inexpressive narration, pauses in speech removed. Both proposals were sent with a couple of video examples and I

Sorry Jason, first thing that popped into my head.

4Chan strikes again...

The weird thing is that /pol/ claims it made this up and circulated it in November 2016.

If there was a billionaire who *didn’t* have orgies with russian prostitutes pissing on each other, I would be deeply concerned. Like, wtf is he doing instead?!

This actually makes me like Trump more.

By no means a Trump supporter here, but this type of article is dangerous. First the buzzfeed article posting unsubstantiated gossip, then this article spreading the unsubstantiated gossip. I understand these are caveated, but just by reporting it many will take this as fact and run with it. It’s no better than Trump
