Once again, The KinjaAVClub takes it upon themselves to decide who may take which roles.

I see Shin Godzilla as a nice reinvention and snicker at the Shin-G Evangelion pun. meanwhile from what little I have seen from Shin Ultraman, it looks like it hasn’t been messed with much at all and that might be bad for it. the Ultraman anime based on the newest manga is what I would expect from something with Shin

I hate to ruin your good joke, but it usually means they favor abortion only in narrow circumstances (rape, incest, to save the life of the mother).

I mean, I don’t disagree with the criticism per se, but I don’t know how anyone squares this moral righteousness over an actor taking a role with the fact that actors taking roles in pro-military propaganda blockbusters like Captain Marvel and Zero Dark Thirty never receive a fraction of this criticism. In fact, we’re

He’s really not. You just got X’ed, my man!!!

it’s just really cool looking back at his previous work. he made this Ultraman short film when he was in highschool and now he’s writing and producing the latest Ultraman theatrical movie. it’s amazing how far he’s come. also that’s him in the Ultraman suit.

As with anything Anno creates, I’m excited to see it. I just hope they’re accessible here in North America. Given Godzilla’s popularity in the US, I totally get why Shin Godzilla was released here, but I’m skeptical that studios will commit to localizing Shin Ultraman and Shin Kamen Rider.

I came down to the comments to say the same thing. Given how much Evangelion owes to old-school Tokusatsu, it’s cool to see Anno take on these dream projects.

Hideaki Anno is living his life’s dream right now. ever since he was in high school he’s been wanting to work on projects like this. it’s amazing seeing him finally achieve his goals.

So... Does this mean that the next film will be Shin Godzilla X Shin Ultraman X Shin Kamen Rider?

Back in the 70's, Kamen Rider V3 was a gigantic hit in Hawaii. I mean, gigantic. I was one of those little kids running around with the V3 belt, halloween costume, and every marketed tie-in product imaginable. It’s kind of amazing that the IP continues to stick around with its various incarnations of riders. There is

They are some of the ugliest games I’ve ever seen. I played the “Western” shooter one... Stranger’s Wrath (?) because it was free on PS+ and I could use it on the Vita and it was just obnoxious. Almost like nails down a chalkboard. Even the quirks, like the cutesy critter ammo, just grated on me.

Like you, I just don’t understand what drives the existence of the Oddworld games.

I remember Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus because I must’ve seen a thousand commercials for it and I can’t forget the little “jingle” where they say the name of the game in some weird voice.

The Oddworld games are such a mystery to me. They just seem to maintain this constant presence in the video game world despite the fact that I’ve never met a single human who has any strong feelings about the games and I’ve never seen a physical copy outside of a clearance bin.

I’m getting the impression they might not have been so generous with brand new Ps5 games if covid hadn’t caused such a dearth of launch titles. Well, that and the super conductor shortage resulting in less consoles in the hands of consumers.

They aren’t bad is an understatement. Once again PS Plus is offering a brand new game on the PS5 for free.

Given all the works that went out of print decades ago or never got an English release, killing amateur translations would not be a net positive.

Well, he clearly likes Genshin impact a lot, and the issue isn’t hating the game. It’s being frustrated with it, and hoping for certain things to be improved, get better. I’m in the same boat as Nathan, honestly - Genshin is some of the most fun I’ve had with a game in years. But at the same time, the predatory
