Thanks, pal!
You're right I'm dismissing it. You see, I'm the type of person who doesn't care if a leader is a msn or a woman. I just care about them being a good leader. You're the one with all these outdated gender hangups.
Thoughts of the King's Courier:
Blowing up a bunch of people isn't a tactical decision, you psychopath, it's what an "insane douche" would do.
I was expecting, you know, a guy who actually would answer the Stark's call. Unlike that stupid fake Manderly that was on the screen.
So what? I had this crazy feeling that the plot and characters drive this series, not some sort of weird ass fictional scorecard for the equally fictional "battle of the sexes"
The fact that all you're taking away from this series is some pathetic scorecard for the fictional "battle of the sexes" is just really, really sad.
Now shes the smartest person all over King's Landing!
HOW DARE THIS FICTIONAL SHOW SET IN A MEDIEVAL-LIKE ERA FAVOR MALE LEADERS OVER FEMALE ONES! HARUMPH!
I hate to burst your benevolent sexist bubble, but just like real life (Margaret Thatcher, Pratibha Devisingh Patil, etc) female leaders can just be as warmongering and cruel as male ones (And for a fiction example…Cersi!). And in your list, you have at least one freaking murderous raping and pillaging viking (Yara),…
Yes! I'm glad someone else noticed it. Earler seasons (when they were just straight up adapting the books.. for the most part) the violence was shocking, but it made narrative sense. It was in character, and in line with the context of the situation. Now it's like the show is a public execution: Happily…
At least our beloved Queen of Thorns shut them the hell up and made them get to the bloody point of the scene.
My money's on Gendry. Targaryen and Baratheon blood is just the political salve for a very long period of war.
He didn't listen to reason because if he did, then the plot wouldn't happen. Hallmark of bad writing. If you still wanted everyone to esplode and your characters not seem like morons, you could always have the tried and true "Too late" moment, where the crowd tries to get out, and then BOOM.
Could probably have used some of that awesome ninja faceless shit when you were trying to get the hell out of Braavos, Arya.
Okay. I never thought I'd say this, probably because the first 5 seasons were so slow, but the breakneck speed of everything is almost off-putting. I'm glad shit is finally getting done, but it feels really rushed now. I hope I'm not the only one getting whiplash from this drastic and uncharacteristic shifting of…
I want whatever teleportation device Varys has.
Suspension of disbelief. if Catherine was a real person, we wouldn't have this comedy gold to laugh at. Tell your inner literalist to chill out and just laugh. :)
Why do you think Selena's personality, or even skill stayed the same over 4 seasons? It is very likely she WAS a pretty decent leader as a Vice President, strangled by her non-position. But, then, she got the be president. Power and Ego can change people, especially as someone as flawed as a Selena Meyer character.
I have a feeling, with all the literal and figurative fucking around Selena has had with Tom Jane, that he's not even going to offer her the vice presidency.
