I always head for the last car, fluorescent light black-out.

1993 Ducati 900SS. Got it for free because my dad didn’t like it (thanks dad!). I picked it up from the dealer for him and rode it from Oregon to the Bay Area. He decided it hurt his knees and let me ride it instead. Eventually he gave me the title. I love the way it looks, sounds, rides, everything about it. I figure

That’s mostly a matter of economics. Helicopters can land in a parking lot with the engine shut down without much trouble. Try doing that in your citation. The reason you see so many EMS operators plowing into the earth is primarily because they use aircraft ill-suited to the task and don’t provide adequate pilot

Aren’t most MANPADS passive devices? I speak only from my experience as a simulated F16 pilot, but the only real defense against infa-red guided devices is keep your head on a swivel and dump flares like confetti after you release your munitions. Do they have more advanced sensors these days that pick up passive

In the Army they call them planes, just think of the havoc that would wreak.

I was picking up a bar pilot from the fantail. We use a hoist and winch him up into the aircraft.

Now playing

Here's a quick link of the 109 in action.

I fly the 109. Not signed off on the 902 yet as it is our back-up ship and not often available to get time in if we're not actively using it.

Funny that you should mention the 109 and 902 in the same article, I happen to have a pair of them right here.

Indeed what current carrier based US fighter can do that? That would be none.

Hmmm...I don't think your phone is gonna survive the impact of a .50 round regardless of the armor plating on the back. The shock of impact will probably create a nice cloud of particulate matter to POOF out of the front of the case. If that armor will even stop a round that can shatter an engine block.

@MonkeyBiz: I think finding the slug in your pocket shows that the hit was pretty direct. A glancing shot would have deflected off somewhere else. Also, the lighter looked very deformed in the picture, as if it had absorbed most of the energy of the spent round. Perhaps the caliber was smaller than that used on
