Hmmm...I don't think your phone is gonna survive the impact of a .50 round regardless of the armor plating on the back. The shock of impact will probably create a nice cloud of particulate matter to POOF out of the front of the case. If that armor will even stop a round that can shatter an engine block.

@MonkeyBiz: I think finding the slug in your pocket shows that the hit was pretty direct. A glancing shot would have deflected off somewhere else. Also, the lighter looked very deformed in the picture, as if it had absorbed most of the energy of the spent round. Perhaps the caliber was smaller than that used on…
