I’m still waiting to hear why his neighbor stomped a mudhole into him. Whatever the reason, I’m siding with the neighbor.

Brooklyn is not here to make friends
4. We no longer have many Black people at my place of employment and even less Black men working here. I have a Black male co-worker who has been getting harassed by White women co-workers. It’s been happening for more than a decade. He doesn’t even like them coming to his extremely secluded office. He knows what the…
First: it’s about time Get got called out. Or maybe you’ve done it before. Can’t remember, but I appreciate this.
I have to question the taste of the listening public because I still can’t figure out why that no flow having Bodak yellow is supposed to be worth listening to.
Poor Melania my a&$. Ole girl done had an East European side piece for years.
She’s a cunt and a bitch. Fuck you.
Rachel Dolezal went from being an amusing talking point, to a general annoyance, to an outright fucking attack on Blackness by way of level 100 White woman-ing. That woman is a fucking White supremacist and I can only hope that her kids don’t grow up too fucked up because of her racist nonsense.
One of my favorite Denise Lasalle joints: “Lick It Before You Stick It.”
Aw naw. May she rest peacefully. Ms. LaSalle was a beloved part of our playlists at cookouts, card games, Friday fish frys, and Saturday morning cleaning. I would’ve liked to have seen her perform in person.
It is a mood & a lifestyle. Everyone should get to a place where they can watch that last clip. May she rest in peace.
I’m sorry you don’t buy into “equal media representation.” You either lack empathy (because I’m sure if you had the capacity to understand the quoted sentiment from Pulliam-Moore, you wouldn’t be here slinging your opinion without thinking it through) or you gain something from saying these things are irrelevant. Or…
They’re an invitation—an affirmation—and something I wish I’d had when I was growing up.
Laughed so hard I coughed.
The part of the reason that you’re missing is that black people don’t have to and don’t want to step aside for the benefit of white people trying to do better. Yes, white kids should have black heroes, but that doesn’t matter. White kids, for this one moment, very fucking late in the history of American toys and…
No it wouldn’t. White kids have always had heroes that looked like them. Kids of color have not, that’s the reason why this is significant. Black Panther tells children of color that their skin isn’t something to be ashamed of.
This is a bit like the argument that was made in favor of allowing States to permit neighborhood associations barring black people from purchasing homes in segregated neighborhoods.
In the early 1970s, as the first American-born kid from both of my Filipino parents respective family branches, and living in a mostly-white suburb in south east Los Angeles (yeah, it was still one of the last “mostly white” towns in that part of L.A.), I completely agree with the sentiment you’re referring to.
Growing up as a Japanese-American kid, it always struck me that even elements from my own culture were replaced by white characters. The Karate Kid was white. The most popular martial arts stuff my friends watched were Van Damme and Segal. The most popular Ninjas were turtles that ate pizza and lived in NY, or 3 white…
Funny how companies want you to share all your past salaries with them, but if you whisper your salary to one other coworker they lose their shit.
