That’s a bit of a leap, airbags weren’t mandatory in the US until 97/98.

It’s about as far from me as it can get within the contiguous US, and I already have an obscure black SUV in my stable, otherwise I’d be all over this. Try to convince me this wouldn’t be a cooler budget overlander than a certain Montero you may have read about here.  You will not succeed.

It runs, and its under $3k. Why the hell not. I’d build it into an off-roader so I could constantly say “No, its not a Rover, its Laforza” and then launch into an automotive history lesson that no one cares about.

Eh, sure, I’ve spent $3000 on dumber things.

Is this worth the price of 2 project Disco 2's? Why yes, yes it is. NP and I’m glad it’s not closer, keeps me mostly out of trouble.

Note: Ford 5.0 liter V8 & Ford 4-speed AOD transmission.

You don’t buy a car like this without plans on doing some wrenching. But at least core drivetrain is Ford, so you should be able to source the most important bits.

It will become an SUV and it will be called the SUX.

We could only dream for a modern day SVX.

NP if the engine and trany were rebuilt, but that’s not mentioned, so it’s a CP

Stopped as soon as I saw the Rough Country lift.

When you think that for $8,200 you can have this or the entirety of David’s fleet, this starts to seem like a reasonable purchase. Don’t be fooled. $8,200 is way too much.

It’s clean I will give them that.  But it also has 280k on it.  I would consider this a good deal between $5-$6k.  CP, sorry

It’d have to be about $5k “jeeper” for me to consider it

I blame Doug DeMuro for this one. He rated these both very high and it would be the Kia/Hyundai dealerships that would try and play off it.

Stupid people. That’s your answer.

Dealer markups on large SUVs that are made by Hyundai and Kia. What a time to be alive.

Lol! “Boring.” Sounds like someone has been buying corollas? I don’t care who you are, if you want an interesting and thrilling car, you can find it, EV or ICE. The rest of your comment was pretty fair, but that last part was a bit smug.

Random Tesla anecdote:

Absolutist bullshit sounds great when you’re a populist shill on the campaign trail, but it’s literally the reason we have the phrase “perfect is the enemy of the good”
