I swear, everything I read about this game makes it sound fantastic! Based on general comments, I skipped 2 (after loving the first one), and had largely written off 3, until the reviews started coming in. Now I've been through DA Keep, and I'm ready to continue the story.
You probably don't have to play both. The first one is way better than the second, but I'd wager the second is way more accessible to people not familiar with the series. And there is no story continuation between DAO and DA2, so if you skipped one you won't be missing much.

I think public text chat would be better than voice for the tower. You could send a quick LFG message using a pop-up keyboard or the companion app. That would be better than having to mute dumb people who don't realize their Kinect mic is on every time you join the tower.

Cool man! I personally have been waiting for Lego to re-release the TIE Interceptor, the most badass looking TIE Fighter of them all.
