Karen gets assaulted again? I know this was inspired by Frank Miller - didn't think he was actually writing it.
Starlord's 'What the Fff….?" after the infinity stone explosions was a pretty close MCU f-bomb.
He is a terrible, terrible person. So far every plot requires that to be the case.
I liked this one. Like most I was intrigued by the pilot and premise, and was disappointed to see the show squander that with sitcom cliches, but this was funny. Todd is much more interesting when he's insecure.
I remember watching this in college when it first aired. I'm old. I remember saying aloud to my roommates during Smithers' 'Devo-licorice-whip' routine, "I think I know what they're making fun of here, but I'm not sure…"
I read that actor also wanted to be driven around in the trunk to 'get into it.'
Yes! Great example - the movie's theme is nothing less than Superman's optimism and decency vs nihilism and violence. It's great.
This trailer does makes me wonder about the Justice League. A JL film as ponderous as Man of Steel (and this trailer) will collapse under its own weight.
I hear you. And in some ways fans are never happy.
Cool. Different strokes and all that.
"Why are people so cynical of this movie?"
Because Batman and Daredevil are characters who can and have benefited from a dark tone.
Yeah it's more about the creative team than the tone. (Although the tone here is excessive.) Can a dark superhero film be good? Of course. But based on Man on Steel, this won't be.
It's not bad (Christina Hendricks is a great Lois) but read the comics if you can.
You're right - that's there too. It is about Superman's 'death' after all. And what a glorious death! If you're going to take him out, that's the way to do it - an end worthy of the character.
1 and 2 are fun; the less said about 3 and 4 the better. Still, Reeves nails what is essentially an impossible role.
Go read 'All Star Superman.' It's bright, fun, smart and uplifting; the best Superman comic in many years and not at all dark.
"You ain't thinking of getting rid of the dank, are you Zack?"
Man - DC is really doubling down on the grimdark aren't they? Is a Superman movie supposed to be depressing?
