Paradoxically, the sexist and misogynistic show “Mad Men” was on for Lord knows how many seasons, and was watched and praised by MANY women. These same women who defend it with, “Oh it was a different time, different standards” somehow forget HISTORICAL CONTEXT when it comes to [often times, black] men in media.

I am hoping your comment comes out of the grays. There really isn’t enough talk about people TAKING RESPONSIBILITY for their decisions. As a wife and working mother I am sick sick SICK of people wanting to play victim right after making what they damn well know is a BAD DECISION.

Well I am only asking about what I see in my reality on a regular basis. I work with a handful of African-American women (and 1 man) and 1 African immigrant from Ghana. I observe the CONSTANT complaining from black (AA)women. They seem to consistently ignore dozens of self-sufficient, employed, respectful, non-violent…

We should NEVER stop giving “cookies” for speaking out. Even when the attempt doesn’t land 100% but you see that the spirit and intent behind it is GOOD.
