Oh shit! Well spotted.
Going back to watch…

SINISTER RED TRIANGLE

I gave this episode eleventy Please Get New Writers.

I honestly expected to see a D/F grading when I visited the review.

Hell yeah.
So in the end Bran gets his wish to be a warrior, and Drogon gets to fry some ice zombies. Win win.

I suspect season 4 was their “rebellious teenager” phase. Season 5 will probably feature Dany pulling them into line with an 80s training montage.

I felt a weird sense of relief when I realised the two streams of cavalry descending on the wildings in pincer formation weren’t blue eyed skeletons. “Surely the White Walkers aren’t that organised…?! Oh derp; it’s Stannis. He's gone beyond the wall.”

Oh that would have been tragic!
I'd completely forgotten about Hot Pie's bread. It's pointless to speculate now, but that Stark sigil-shaped loaf might have been enough to turn her.

Brutal, yes. It was so tough watching Brienne and The Hound fighting.
*shing* *clash*
"Gah! No!"
*shing* [grunt] *shing shing*
“Stop hurting each other! I like *both* of you!”

Mainland Westeros must seem so humane to her.

• So the Mountain might live? Ugh. Although I do love that Oberyn is messing with him from beyond the grave. (Side note: manticore poison looks nasty).

Uzo Aduba represent! Here (2 years later) because Orange is The New Black / Crazy Eyes.

The 360° sweeping view of the castle yard in full battle was great. Tormund was the highlight of that scene for me; with his leaping and slashing and crazed cheering. That guy was having the time of his life.

and the book purists' gears. Their angry, grinding gears.

You’d think after his experience with wargs, Jon would have warned his Crow Bros to be on the lookout for suspicious hawks/owls loitering at Castle Black. Then again, Alliser & Co reacted with disbelief when he mentioned giants, so maybe he didn’t want to push his luck with tales of feathered Westerosi surveillance

Six Feet Under Ice.

Samwell opened the door and Gilly almost committed grievous bodily ham!

The giant's spear-sized arrows were hilariously effective. “brb, just going to take out a parapet platform with one shot, you guys.”

Ugh. Yes. That.
Good point.

I wondered about the hair. Someone else said it was a trick of the eye – because she was backlit – but I watched it again and you’re right, it’s definitely dyed.
