I have small criticisms with the designs, but overall I wouldn't mind this style being used officially.

After looking at Link's back, it reminded me of how I could never quite figure out how we was getting his shield on and off based on the angle he was apparently reaching from.

I beaten Paper Mario 1, and I own Super Paper Mario. I've also played to completion Mario and Luigi 1.
I still don't have to like the necessity of a secondary item to level up my characters. I feel it was an unnecessary piece of the system and made it a worse experience for it.
That was certainly impressive until he sort of explained their motivation for creating this tech.
If the sphere grid had only required points to open each node instead of a secondary item, I would have thought better of it. That's really my only complaint.
Oh boy. I probably won't be getting that updated version. I liked FF10, but I don't feel like playing through it again. I hated the sphere grid system for leveling. What really turned me off was the need to collection different spheres for specific nodes. Drove me nuts.
I'm against those plans.
I've got a few solutions in mind that don't totally take advantage of consumers or Sony. We all make compromises, but we all get a little of what we want. These solutions could even be run side by side to give the consumer a choice.
The analog nub and function buttons should have been black as well to keep with the duo-tone.
