I agree, and yet companies like huge domains and their ilk do it anyway. I was really just lamenting the fact that a few of the websites I had planned were already taken by companies that seemed to not really be using them. Oh well I suppose.

That's not what I meant, look at my reply to Cryptical. There are "companies" on the web that buy random domains on the internet in the hopes they fall on one that someone or some company will want in the future (kind of like WiiU.com) if that makes sense.

Your right, it's not exactly the same. What I meant was the domains that were taken weren't really being used for anything they were being "squatted" in the hopes of selling the domain for some obscene price to a company or individual (me).

God I hate squatters. I can't tell you how many times I had an idea for a website with the perfect domain name and it was already taken.
