I would challenge that assumption. Are Toyotas or Hondas 2-4x more expensive than they should be because they are assembled in America? Toyota Camry's and Honda Accords are big sellers here and they are assembled here, all at a good cost point.

Ummmm .. I was under the impression that the 2 best selling models of cars made in America were the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. So FOREIGN companies are making (or at least assembling) technology here in the USA but Apple has to ship its work to China?

So you could avoid iTunes altogether if you wanted to buy an iPad or iPhone? I was under the assumption that its pretty useless unless you have iTunes to make sure everything 'just works'. If we were free to hack about and use whatever we want, I would think they would use that as a selling point to all us PC fanboys.

I've been finding digital mp3 'slbums' of current releases on Amazon for 2.99 complete .. by artists like The Black Keys, .fun, Florence and the Machine. That is MUCH cheaper than 12-13 bucks and I have a 'physical' copy on my hard drive, burned to a back up cd, and in the cloud.

Well, DRM free in and of the fact that you pretty much HAVE to use iTunes if you have an apple device and their cloud service. Not sure why you'd want to download something from iTunes and then port it over when you can just avoid iTunes by buying music elsewhere. isn't iTunes also using 128k bitrates too?

I used to buy older computers from Craigslist ads and they usually worked well (I tended to stick with IBM/Lenovo for laptops) but people in the last year or two seem to REALLY overvalue what they have, and not get the depreciation aspect of it.
