I had an 84 Supra that I bought used in 86. It was not a mediocre car at the time. It was more of a boulevard cruiser than a sports car, but it was a fun car.
This, when local high schoolers are driving the same vehicle, but one or two generations newer, that’s when you have an old car.
I remember in college we all drove absolute junk. Like anything made in the previous ten years was like “ooooh lookit mr fancypants in his seven year old Subaru”.
When I can drive by a high school parking lot and see that every car in the lot is newer than it.
I don’t get the big deal. The cars are the cars, go inspect them and bid what they are worth. Calling it a barn find really has no bearing on the value.
I question the judgement of someone who does something like that in the first place. The fact that the stock wheels are available aren’t the issue.
The more you mod it, the less it’s worth. Why do Subaru owners not understand this?
