This actually really pisses me off. We lobbied for the $20, to replace a bad dude who didn’t favor paper currency and would likely have hated being on it. Easy decision, right? Nope. Instead they give us the $10 - a less popular currency - and we have to fucking share it with the dude already on it. Gee. Thanks.

choice doesn’t make you a hero, sweetheart. neither does winning. the fight does. i’m not trying to frustrate you and i will never ever tell you how to feel. but when i think of a hero, i think of the strength and the effort. and it doesn’t have to be a perfect fight, either. to me, heroes can falter and do poorly,

In summary: girls must change how they dress to avoid falling victim to the male gaze.

So much for the legitimacy of that “transracial identity” issue that so many TOTALLY NOT TRANSPHOBIC people were bringing up.

And FFS STOP SAYING SHE’S THE SAME AS CAITLYN JENNER.

Wait, what? So people need to know each other more that seven years but not be high school or college sweethearts. Got it. *eyeroll*

Yeah all the worse arguments happen during vacations.

ooh! Ooh! My mom’s family is from S. Florida, so “family vacation” always meant “visit Gramma and Grampa in Ft. Lauderdale. Cool. It has a beach! My grandparents live like, on the damn beach so my brother and I would jump out of the car, throw on a swim suit and run head long into the water on a semi public-ish beach

TBH I don’t disagree with Jerry Seinfeld. I don’t think what he’s referencing is “killing” comedy (that’s an overdramatic characterization; if it was, then why do comedy movies draw millions, comedy TV shows draw millions, comedy specials draw millions?), but I think a specific type of collegiate thinking is creating

I was expecting pretty much nothing but Spy is my favorite movie of the year so far. It was super funny and also sweet. Melissa is such a star.

Also this “Josh was too curious about girls” statement really pisses me off.

that War will be etched in the Russian cultural memory for centuries to come i think, long after the last of its survivors has died because of what cost they paid to win it.

its really a shame we spent decades with them as the enemy. think about all the good that could have been accomplished were the Soviets leaders

I remember studying Russian in the Soviet Union in the late 1980s- the glaring lack of old men was stunning. There were plenty of old women, who swept streets, sold the ubiquitous tickets needed for museum entry, told complete strangers to wipe their feet before entering, to stay off the grass, to button up a coat

Jim Bob is asking Jesus for advice right now, and Jesus is all

Jesus Christ could not be reached for comment.

Way to do more harm than good for the cause kids.

Good outcome, but the “prosecution” shouldn’t have taken place. As a result of this process, the temperature has been chilled everywhere. If you know an academic with Twitter or Facebook, you know they are thinking thrice before posting anything mildly upsetting.

I am listening a great podcast about the French Revolution right now...and it is amazing how fast that revolution ended up eating its own children because of the ever moving line of who is a revolutionary and who is not. Sadly...all revolutions go throught this.

“symbolically incoherent” is a phrase that a lot of college students need to have in their head when they plan their activism, just saying.

What bums me out most about this is that the question of consent laws, “spheres of victimhood” and the worry about infantilization is SUCH an important and interesting one (and
