I Met Him At The Candy Store

The Lindsay trailer isn't available in my part of the world, and that is making me much more sad than it should. Damn

100% could not agree more. Co-signed, rubber stamped, YES.

Oh for sure, I want to have a serious scream at Kris Jenner for exposing anyone to this crap, let alone her family.

As true as all that may be, that doesn't make it right. Nor does it preclude my sympathy for her at what went down.

Reggie Bush is a nobody outside of the US though, so her fame didn't extend as far as it has of late. Kanye elevates her status by his global fame. She's on the radar of people she never was before.

Thank you! Jesus, I feel like I'm losing my mind reading this page. A preconceived like or dislike of a celebrity is not license to reduce and objectify a woman! If this were any of the famous darlings of feminism, or even a flavour of the month, this comments section would be unrecognisable. I'm ashamed.

Then you have no empathy whatsoever.

What is it exactly about making money like this that offends you? I give zero fucks about how she came to be there (as I stated above), but she was there and she was treated in a fucking awful way.

I am the same - it's such a deeply complex issue that I can't pick it apart, but what you've said definitely rings true. Yes, she had a sex tape so her public opinion is skewed (don't even start me on how unfair that shit is), but she gets an absolutely inordinate amount of gendered and disparaging language slung her

You know how awful people are about her online? It feels like she's being exposed to those attitudes more and more in realy life now that her world has expanded beyond Mom's house and LA. It's really horrible. Add to that how incredibly racist people are about her interracial relationship, and there's a shitstorm

I really don't care what you think about how Kim Kardashian lives her life, this incident is vile and degrading and I feel for her so much. Imagine having this happen to you! Racial abuse of the father of your child, that you are supposed to just suck up, because of money and propriety. People casting aspersions

Woman is uncomfortable at being asked about her tits by stranger. Not shocking or disappointing. I'm not mad Vic, be coy all you want.

At the very least the angle where he was looking creepy was a cut away from the over-shoulder knee touching angle. He could've been looking at her like a big friendly goof when he touched her knee. We don't know. You don't make a video highlighting abuse anf starring an abuse survivor without filming it with

I don't love this song, musically, but damn this video is great. She's got gigantic chops, I appreciate her for that. I hope she has success.

It looks more like high as hell face to me, but you can never be sure. She did go to rehab for alcohol a while back though, so I hope it's not that.

I think that the conversation definitely has to take in cultural setting, and my cluelessness stems largely from my European setting and white-dominated culture. I can read and read about skin whitening among Asian people or African people, but it is informed by nuanced cultural influences that I can only be so

Is it out of order to say that she looks kind of terrifyingly otherworldly in that last picture when these are put together? She was SO beautiful, dareisay pretty much flawless before.

That's exactly what I was assuming. I have non-white friends who've bemoaned darkening of knees and so-forth, I guess that's what lightening creams by reputable companies are designed for. But yeah, whole face lightening is an absolutely different conversation, I'm sure.

You're right, absolutely, on the moral point. Thanks for this.

I would imagine the large proportion of those creams don't contain bleach so they can be marketed to all skin tones, but I may well be wrong. At the very least, what you're using surely couldn't touch the concentration of this product. I am aghast at the contrast.
