I think what we actually need is a light electric runabout. I don’t need massive range or power. I just want to go to work and the grocery store in a simple vehicle. We have a gas car for the other stuff.

I was thinking Fiat Multipla that mated with a Hippo, and then they heavily over fed the baby. Man that thing is FUGLY.
Its so cute
This schmuck is smooth but very scary. He doesn’t act like he’s on LSD like MTG or Boboobs, but he’s way to the right of Atilla The Hun, clearly quite the woman hater. Women, from his view, have one job in life, pump out men willing to work cheap. I wonder if he wants to reinstate slavery, setup concentration camps…
Not likely. Parking garages, if properly constructed and maintained, can handle lots and lots of weight. If they are improperly constructed, on loose footings, and/or not regularly inspected for degradation they will inevitably fail.
At other times, I’d mockingly say to be careful of the sky falling, or a meteor landing on you at all times... but with Florida construction standards... the unreasonable fear becomes reasonable.
Like those English schools?
“Florida Van”
Hey, early ‘00's college students with free Maxim subscriptions would like to have a word.
“I hope you’re never in the fucking position I’m in.”
That position being, refusing to protect yourself and others from a deadly pandemic, at the expense of your career, and then acting like YOU’RE the victim?
Thankfully, I will never be in the fucking position you’re in.
A single self-driving car has a non-fatal accident and it’s global news. Meanwhile 200 people in my small non-US state have died in manually driven car accidents since the beginning of the year. People are shit at estimating risk.
Yeah, there are more than enough reasons to hate on Elon these days, but I really do find this lawsuit puzzling. ITAR is really stringent on its requirements and the idea that non-permanent citizens are actually allowed comes as a surprise to most in the space community.
I’m pretty sure they just say it’s Biden’s fault and if Donny 2 Scoops hadn’t had the election stolen from him then Foxconn would have built 30 plants in every state!
It’s not ignorance of ITAR, its the incredibly difficult process of managing ITAR and the very severe penalties and arbitrary enforcement of it. If you’ve ever had to manage ITAR companies are totally paranoid about it for good reason because even following rules the State Department will still burn you on it.
This is basically a BS case brought by someone trying to get 5-minutes of fame. This happens at EVERY defense and military contractor because the USG is VERY clear that we must hire sole US Citizens and in most cases Dual Citizens and definitely non-Citizens are not eligible for security clearances or ITAR (rockets)…
Blue Origin was apparently doing the same thing, for the same reasons. Kind of makes me suspect there was some mixed-messaging there from the government.
To me the most amusing thing is when they complain that some change in the code has made it impossible to figure out how to reproduce the same thing they were “making” before. Almost as though they have no hand in making it at all..
One of my personal pet peeves about the AI “prompt-gineers” (aside from, you know, the theft of art and labour etc etc all that) is that they will “produce” a piece of work with shockingly obvious issues that wouldn’t fly past the eye of even an armature artist....and just say “fuck it, good enough. Post”
Eight…
Genuinely curious how this one shakes out, because I honestly could believe that SpaceX thought they shouldn’t hire anyone who might run afoul of restrictions related to national security (given that they do a bunch of defense-related stuff and have launched completely classified satellites).
Isn’t this exactly the problem? If we live multiple times, it wouldn’t be such a big deal.
