corset-wearers generally lived longer than the average life expectancy for the time periods.

Seriously, leave her the fuck alone. She isn’t responsible for his actions. She doesn’t owe anyone a damn thing due to the accident of who she was born to.

She’s right.

This is a show that got me to scream “RUN, MOTHERFUCKER, RUN!!!!” after a man proposed marriage, was accepted, then immediately panicked and took off.

Oh, they will. It will become the new protocol, sadly.

Her friend Nourah that’s been helping her was able to flee to Australia.  I really hope they’re able to meet up when she gets there.

And lucky! Australia does not usually get involved in these kinds of matters.

Excellent point -- social media is what made the difference here. I could easily see the government cracking down on account use by women.

I’m so thankful she has managed (so far) to get away from her abusive family, and wish her the very best.

From her Twitter, it looks like Australia is going to take her in.  She’s incredibly brave to do this.  I hope to god her family doesn’t send people to kidnap or kill her.

I hope she’s smart enough to never go back to them or meet any of her relatives in private.

After everything that happened with Jamal Khashoggi and with how high profile Rahaf has become I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saudis might be willing to let things go without a fight this time for the sake of PR. It was one thing when the world didn’t know her name, it’s another thing entirely now.

I hope her family isn’t well connected and wealthy. I’m not sure there is any country that could truly protect her if the Saudi government decided that she is PR embarrassment that needs to be eliminated. Even if she moves to Australia, I fear for her in a year or two.

I hope she gets her asylum.

EVE is a PvP game at its heart. There are PvE mechanics, missions, and some
“end game” level PvE content, but they’re all there mostly to support the PvP aspect. There is no top level raid, or any Mythic + type competition, the only widely recognized accolades in the community are PvP related. That’s why you see more

How come all these EVE articles is about X doing something to Y or Z was finally destroyed?

There’s Andrew Groen and his Empires of EVE books! He mostly covers the Nullsec Empires.

Please tell me there is a Chronicler somewhere, recording all these events into a Romance of the Three Kingdoms style book(s)

There’s something tragic about seeing the first of anything be destroyed, and all the work that went into making it gone. Most EVE players seem very destructive

The police and prosecutors are always careful in their wording until there are charges and a conviction.
