My gTablet gets horrible battery life. I think it's par for the course. Nothing to criticize, it's just the way it is.

Hmm, that gives me an idea. Apple could issue a fix that always shows your battery at above 90% even if it isn't the case. Bug squashed! :)

78% after 7 hours is fantastic! Wish my 3GS had that kind of longevity.

I agree that the above photo does not do the RAZR name justice. /sadface

I loved my razr, and still do (at least the hardware/form factor, the software is a different story). How can you not love this beautiful hardware design?

It IS better...for Apple! :)

Futureproofing sounds good in theory, but all my geek Android friends seem to find a way to upgrade to the latest "hot" phone when it gets released. For example, in the span of two years, my brother has had a Samsung Moment, HTC EVO, Samsung Epic 4G, and is now rocking an HTC EVO 3D, while I've hung on to my iPhone

Good article. I think the main takeaway is that Apple products has never been about futureproofing on the hardware front; they're all about what is mainstream NOW, and then upgrading as the next generation product is released. It's the reason why my MacBook Air only has 4GB of ram, and why it (and the Mac Mini) were

True, the iPhone is selling pretty damn well and Apple can revisit their design decisions when that is no longer the case. Those fake cases showing the tapered design had me a tad worried. I didn't want a phone with an aluminum back that can be easily scratched, and I love the iPhone 4 design, so I'm planning to

I wouldn't mind a larger screen...as long as it doesn't negatively impact battery life.

Totally agree.

I don't know if this will be a huge issue down the road with advanced voice technology like Siri to do stuff on your smartphone. Anyway, I always thought that the decision to keep the same resolution/screen size was to placate developers, so that they wouldn't have to deal with a multitude of resolutions for their

Agreed. I swear, the only way blog commenters would have been satisfied if Apple had called it the iPhone 5, and maybe made the screen 0.5" bigger (but that would probably have wrecked havoc with app developers).

Good points. Personally I can't wait to replace my 3GS with the 4S. However, since my phone is provided by work, I have to wait for the initial hoopla to die down before I can place my order through our procurement dept.

I'm surprised that these sold out so quickly after all the negative comments related to the 4S launch. I guess normal consumers don't comment on blogs much...

That dude is talented. /impressed

I'm a relatively newcomer to Macs. My first Mac was a Mac Mini model MC238LL/A that I purchased used off of Craigslist in June 2010. I purchased it for $500, and sold it for $400 this July, when I upgraded to a new Mac Mini model MC270LL/A. During the same month I got a new MacBook Air 13" (w/i5 & 256GB SSD).

I miss Brian Lam and the good old days. Come back and write more articles, Brian!

Thanks for sharing, Giz. CNET also had posted notable reactions from Twitter: [news.cnet.com]

I'm surprised they didn't catch this design flaw during testing. Don't have exposed speaker cones if the speakers are meant to be handled by clumsy human beings.
