Pre-order bonuses in general are dumb, but this is just classic out of touch Nintendo.

I prefer the low end. It makes the numbers more significant, whereas having 4+ digit numbers makes it all seem kind of empty, and anything less than a few thousand feels completely useless. When even my weakest character can still be somewhat useful with a 1 or 2 point damage attack, they still feel valuable.
