In its defense, Prototype was actually pretty fun once you drop any pretense that your character is anything but a cross between The Incredible Hulk and Carnage. Play it like an alien monster instead of a conflicted antihero and almost every problem with the game itself vanishes.

None of these are meant for kids, they’re meant for adults who grew up with them and have disposable income.

I will say that I feel that the existing Brave Exvius is pretty F2P friendly. I haven’t spent money on it since... last summer, maybe, and I never feel like I need to anymore.

It’s got an energy system, so presumably it’s a standard F2P setup.

Is it related to the existing Final Fantasy Brave Exvius mobile game? Or are they just using that as am umbrella title for their mobile efforts or something?

Unfortunately, Tiger doesn’t get to compete with ‘90s entertainment options this year.

How did no one at Tiger not come up with the idea to just redo all their games in a smartphone app and sell them for a dollar each? Seems like a better, cheaper, more potentially successful idea on every level.

As someone who grew up with these things as the only source of portable gaming, why? They’re not fun for more than a couple of minutes, they’ve got no sense of responsiveness. The most interesting thing with them was that when you turned the thing on, all of the LCD parts would come on at once, so you could see how

But then shouldn’t her shirt read E.U. Navy?

I’d disagree about it being the best, given that Dawn of War 2 exists, but then that would lead to arguments about whether DoW2 is an RTS or an ARPG or a tactics game or what, and I don’t feel like that right now.

The original Deus Ex was so good. I still remember the weird feeling of mingled triumph and guilt for using the killphrases on Gunther and Navarro.

Ugh. Flashbacks to the amount of time I spent trying to shoot a basket in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. At least I finally got an achievement for it, even if it was literally the thing that made me stop hunting achievements.

Riley, I think there’s something wrong with the link.

Diablo 3, also. (Though, as a casual fan, I enjoyed vanilla D3 well enough for what it was.)

Koffing is the official Pokemon of Trump’s EPA.

Unless they’re going to make you ship them two Switches and then they ship them back after performing a manual transfer, I imagine it’s as simple as claiming you ‘broke’ your old one and here’s the serial number for my new one.

I mean, the idea that companies only exist to make money isn’t exactly a great argument - I think a fair number of people would suggest it’s a major flaw with the way we’ve structured our society and economy, particularly in an industry that’s at least somewhat artistic.

I wasn’t able to watch much last night, but I’m glad they didn’t send anyone home the first episode. So many shows do that and the audience doesn’t get a chance to see what the contestants can actually do once they’re settled in.

Fire Emblem also usually has the double gut-punch of said OP old knight character having bad stat growth so not only do you wind up with most of your roster being underleveled, the person you’ve been overleveling winds up being mediocre at best.

A deep cut, but a good one.
