Seriously? What about all the so-called “progressives” like Brie Gray and Cornel West who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Hillary and instead went for the grifter and anti-vaxxer Jill Stein?

They always forget the part where dude made a whip so he could drive the moneylenders out of the Temple.
Low energy.
It was a hard read, no question. I haven’t read the second for the same reason--it felt like too much at the time, and now it’s terrifyingly prescient.
I’m not surprised in the least that Trump said the things cited in the Atlantic article. That’s who he is.
It’s in his DNA. His grandfather fled Prussia to avoid military service in the late 1800's, went to Canada and opened a brothel.
I’ve been known to wake up in the middle of the night, grab my phone and check, just in case.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
One of the moments in my life that I’ll never forget was meeting Octavia Butler in 1998 at Lunacon. I was an SF con vet by then, and it was the first and only time the guest of honor was someone who looked like me. I don’t remember what I said to her--I think it was incoherent, because I was so overwhelmed. I do…
She heard people in her family say she had Native ancestry—which certainly isn’t out of the question for someone from Oklahoma—and she believed it without question. She checked a box on a form, but AFAIK, she never publicly claimed to be Native or have any tribal association. No one has every claimed that she…

Mark Jacksonand countless other highly qualified Black candidates?
It says so much about him that he said that, knowing full well that Google exists--and knowing that no one on Fox Sports Radio will bother to check.
I’m wondering if any of the people insisting that the players should have stayed out have ever been through a strike.
They have that option. That’s what a collective bargaining agreement means. I mean, there’s a reason the players called it a boycott rather than a strike. There are plenty of guys in the D-League who’d be happy to play.
The whole point is that in a huge arena, you can socially distance. Also, as has been noted, part of the plan is to hire stadium employees as poll workers, addressing one of the issues with in-person voting right now.
Hey! It’s not like I’m WFH in my PJs today...
Had Lebron left the bubble, others would have followed, and perhaps we could have had a shining moment of self-reflection, and action.
How are you getting “stick to sports” from “have an plan with actionable goals before you agree to go back”? The whole point was that while the initial boycott was a good start, there was no agreement among the players on what the next steps should be. James and Paul might be able to eat the $5 million fine for…
Boycotting two games is one thing. Sitting out the rest of the season would be a wildcat strike that’s against the current collective bargaining agreement. “Failure to appear” includes a fine of up to $5 million, and while LeBron and Chris Paul can afford that, not every player can.
