Thanks for posting the sales numbers...showing exactly what I said. The Camaro’s sales have gone from outselling the Mustang to dropping below the Challenger.

The point is that Gen 6 Camaro sales were disappointing to start and have continued to decline. Because it’s a flop.

If you didn’t want a back seat, you’d buy a Corvette. So yes, you buy a coupe because it has a back seat. The size of the Challenger is a benefit to a lot of people. Again, 99% of the public don’t give a rats ass about fucking lap times.

The S550 was a great looking car until this latest refresh. And it still dropped 8,000 more sales than the Camaro.

Sorry I’m on a car blog talking actual...you know...car news. Using sales figures and whatnot.

Stories like this are not new. Chevy has been making excuses for why the car isn’t selling since day 1. The only months its sold well were when they DUMPED incentives on it. As soon as the incentives stopped, people went back to buying Mustangs and Challengers.

Herp derp. When prior generations of said car we’re wildly successful, then this Gen comes out and falls on it’s face....yes. I think it’s time to consider that lame lap times MAYBE aren’t what the consumer cares about.

I care because it’s hilarious that the ugly movie prop shitbox has billions invested in it and can’t outsell an old and allegedly terrible Dodge Challenger. Ford fucked up the new mustang and it’s still KILLING this car.

So now the Camaro can’t sell because the Challenger is TOO bad? Jesus, I’ve heard some wild ass excuses today.

Reviews say the Camaro is more attractive, spacious, has better ergonomics and more HP than the Challenger or Mustang? Because basically none of those statements are true, but are all pretty important to car buyers.

You said, “The majority of people who buy cars -probably arond 99%- don’t use sales figures to determine their purchases or leases. Those who do, however, probably shouldn’t be driving anyway.”.

I assume you mean in regards to the Mustang and Challenger?

Freeways have turns. I’d rather drive to work in a Challenger than a Camaro.

The worst? Its not the worst at having a back seat. It’s not the worst looking. It’s not the worst priced. Still TONS of performance in the scat pack and up cars.

They also equate size with....being comfortable. Something that people who daily drive cars in real life (not motortrend articles) care about.

The Mustang isn’t a crossover. It didn’t drop 23%. The Challenger’s sales are up this year.

The Camaro is like a burger joint; the food(performance) is good but the restaurant smells like shit (aesthetics), the bathrooms are dirty (ergonomics). Oh and the burger is a higher price. Doesn’t matter how good the hamburger is if the rest is bad.

Except the Challenger is comfortable, doesn’t look like a Michael Bay design studio reject, is priced competitivly and is still REALLY fast.

Cars.
