I’ve been saying for a while that Harley should look to Triumph as a model. Everyone knows about the Triumph modern classic range, but they also have great ADV bikes and roadsters. I love me some retro vibe, but I have to say that my Street Triple was my favorite bike ever.
Which brings us back around to the business…
I was also a fan of the Bangle era. I even got to question the man, himself, once! I was impressed by him, in addition to his design.

They don’t want modernized anything, and every time in history Harley has tried to do something modern, the market has abandoned them hard. They’re pretty much damned if they do, damned if they don’t, but at least in the latter case…
Triumph did all of that without a crystal ball during the 2003-09 time frame that Harley owned Buell. Yes, they were technologically ahead of the curve - but that wasn’t the thing holding them back. They made awesome streetfighters and a very competent ADV bike - the market all those types of bikes grew significantly…
