It’s a large part of why I don’t really pay much attention to Japanese sci-fi and action films, at some point after Casshern I started to lose my enthusiasm for their visual effect heavy endeavours. I think Goemon was the last action movie I watched from Japan

Ahh right, my ignorance is showing i’m afraid. I hope the technology becomes more affordable or they up their film budgets. Japan are good at creating unique visuals and iconic imagery, would be pretty great to see a talented team work with a hollywood level effects

I was optimistic for this, then I saw the trailers and their god awful production value. Japan just seem miles behind Hollywood when it comes to big budget blockbusters

Not that shocking really, they were a couple dozen behind Smash4 last year and it usually gets more streaming views than Smash4.
It’s player base is ridiculously dedicated to that game, and refuse to move on.
