@reynwrap582: I've heard people mention that before. I've got stock Froyo, but holding the home button just brings up the 8 most recent apps, no Task Manager button. I haven't looked much deeper into it though...not sure if I have to enable it somewhere.

@Tweeks: There is a list of running apps in the applications manager that you can find in settings.

@Notsogr8one: That sounds awesome. Thanks for the great overview!

@ZZZYZZZ: Oh good. I like options.

@Gotlactose: Well I did decide from the start that I would never give up my phone, so there was no point in leaving that behind. Honestly thought, the stuff you really want to take with you stands out after a day or two even if you don't take note.

@Unionhawk: I stopped buying the textbooks completely. Haven't needed a single one I bought for the past 3 semesters.

@kyre: Definitely humans. Specifically I do human nutrition studies which generally involves changing aspects of a diet in a large group of people and examining the anthropometric and clinical results – far more involved than it sounds. Unfortunately, the only knives involved are the ones the subjects use on their

@PamelaFlying fox: If you're looking at it that way, then you're absolutely right – mess. Picking out the right Android phone takes a lot of dedication. I can understand why a lot of people go for an iphone...it's clean, beautiful, and is useful without any thought on the part of the owner (though a little thought can

@suburbancowboy: I bought a leatherman thinking I'd use it nearly everyday. But I spend almost all of my time at home, in class, or at the USDA office where I'm a diet technician. Turns out none of my activities require a portable utility set. I'm disappointed, but still looking forward to the day that I find a use

@Whitson Gordon: I think my way helped me prioritize what I carry around a little better. There were just some things (yep, ipod) that it was harder to get along without than others. I think it gave me a pretty good idea of what I might need when I compare to my plans for the day too.

I kind of took the opposite approach. I left my bag at home one day and took note every time I found myself thinking "Well shit, I wish I had _____ with me." It helped me see what I need and don't need pretty quickly.

I use twitter to post rants that friends would probably block me for on twitter. It tends to get the attention of completely random people. I've always intended to find a different use for twitter, but inspiration has yet to strike.

@ZZZYZZZ: And you'll return to tell us which on you regret missing out on so that I can snag it, yes? :D

@PamelaFlying fox: You and I must have read two completely different articles. I think it's a fair assessment of what those of us looking to buy an(other) Android phone in the future should be looking forward to and concerned about. I'm on the track to picking out yet another great phone when my Droid1 dies – if ever.

@Notsogr8one: Do you prefer it for any particular reason?

I've been looking forward to this post. Thanks Whitson!

@Shadow-Lurker: Haven't rooted yet, but have lately been looking around for which ROM I want to use when I do so in the very near future. I definitely appreciate the suggestion and any more you might have about custom ROMs.

My enV2 would 4 or 5 days without a recharge. When I switched over to the Droid a little over a year ago I was pretty irked by the battery life. I never did fix it, mostly just got used to it. That, and my Mini has a usb port, so I was able to charge up without having to buy a car charger.

@Mike8813: I live in DC and feel lucky to be in one of the most culturally diverse places in the world. How anyone around here can hold onto a racist mentality and stick around is beyond me. What further baffles me is how they could possible assume that everyone agrees with their backwards ass views. I'm ashamed to
