Single turbo. Old motor ran sequential turbos. I'm guessing cost. New 335d motor and 740d motor rated at 313. Go figure. -Michael

Actually, now you can select that motor across the 3 Series range in certain markets.
OH! Wait, there is something. Like in the 3-series, the 5er is equipped with start stop tech to reduce emissions, thankfully it can be turned off. The problem is that the button to turn off start stop is attached to the button to start the car. Push the wrong one at a light, and you'll feel like a moron.
"The tradeoff is the core M models are developed for use on the racetrack, but you can use the car daily," Ohhhh, now I get it. The M5 has engine sounds produced on the audio system because it is a,,, wait for it,,, RACE CAR!!! I am relieved that BMW's Friedrich Nitschke has a cleared up the whole branding mess. M5…
Why would I wish for a change in physics? Pushing a plow takes a lot of energy. The heat generated from that energy must be dissipated. Your theory about cooling fan disengagement would make it impossible for a pickup engine to dissipate that heat load from the radiator at low speeds. Idling OTR trucks have different…
Respectfully, you are confusing the demands of cooling a pickup with a plow and the antiquated notion that any modern pickup (with or without a plow) requires a canvas on the grill. First, better thermal management has drastically cut the demand for running a canvas on the grill of a modern pickup- rendering the…
Your cooling fan as a "non-essential" does not make any sense to me. Prior snow plow prep for diesels included a more aggressive fan clutch precisely because of the increased low speed cooling requirements. -Michael
And Ford, missing the point that no one seriously wants to carry a plow with the lightweight F-150 front end. -Michael
Good point- I totally agree about depth. But all three manufactures are trying to deal with the same two issues- maximum height restrictions and airflow. For (good) safety reasons, they had to accommodate the requirement that trucks not ride over car bumpers in rear end collisions. And everyone has pretty deep skirts…
" the bass boat behind the Ram 2500 in the picture above was towed into the show by a Ford!"
"Well, what does that say about their engines?" Ummm… Lemme think…. NOTHING!
BMW has run a character line through the 3 Series door handles for ages. If this is a riff on BMW's clean, traditional 2 series design element, it is pretty sad. -Michael
Width not height. Broke an axle (hence the truck is being lifted in the photo). -Michael
That is a demonstration of off-road prowess? Weak sauce. A Cute UTE could traverse the same terrain. I'm not sure I'd brag about being "at the helm." -Michael
Yeah… that looks pretty scary. I'd look at commercial options because you are really pushing the limits. You'll probably need a tandem semi with a tag axle to meet DOT requirements. -Michael
