DingDingDingDingDing!

Fired for this blunder, etc...

This analysis is dead-on. The movie is amazing and humane and everyone should watch it regardless of interest in Green Book. I only knew Jason Segel as a voice actor. DFW was also against type for his voice roles, but he really nailed it. There is something encouraging about seeing a new face turn in a world-class

Thank you. I was hoping someone would point this out. Nut milks aren’t good for much of anything except drinking.

That does sound like something I would like to see. Will give it a shot!

So, I’m guessing from the review that I DON’T need to watch this one, as a domestic violence survivor. It’s too bad. I am interested in the story, but I don’t think I’m up for watching a lady crying and shaking talking about it in court and then being disrespected and/or patronized (by the court, not the documentary).

Maybe there are psychological differences between those groups. But what difference does that make to us laymen? We aren't providing them treatment. IMO, we should drop pedophile and (ephebephile) from our discussions of child sex abuse, because not all offenders are whatever-philes. Sometimes a young person is a

Yeah, this is it, we all talk about how we attract psychos, but we (I, at least) also attracted better people. The problem was that I was also attracted to the psychos. And that is something I could and did totally work on.

I thought you were an immigrant if you moved to another country permanently, like you were going to become a citizen. An American living in Japan (as I understand it) cannot hope to become a citizen, so calling themself an expat seems completely appropriate.

Wait, someone wants to eat Cheetos, but doesn’t want to have to lick the powder off their fingers? Maaaybe I just don’t ever eat Cheetos in public...

Dan’s advice to the lady who was concerned about attracting psychos was harsh but fair. I have that same history, and if I was divorced I would no doubt worry about it. Looking back though, it’s not that hard for me to see what I did that contributed to my ending up with such people. And there are ALWAYS red flags.

My most-watched movies are probably Heathers and Queen Margot. But that’s just because I loved those when I was younger and had a lot more time to watch movies over and over. I also used to inflict my movies on friends and family regularly when I was young. As I got older, I re-watched stuff less, even my favorite

*Checks your avatar* So the live-action Bleach is not bad? Good to know. These things are catnip to me for some reason.

There. You just kink-shamed {redacted}. It's OK. I'm pretty sure they get off on everyone's disapproval.

Words mean things. Rape is understood to mean a sort of violation involving sex. It can be violation of the person by forcing totally unwanted sex, or it can be a violation of terms of agreement about sex. That means having sex in a way the partner would not have consented to. Sure, it seems like that would be less

It’s Bundy’s less-murderous brother, Al.

I had no idea my cat was interested in finding the zodiac killer!

That was an interesting read. So...he hit her, but not with a baseball bat.

I don’t have time to read as much as you do, but I would read a lot less if I had to purchase (and then store) every book I wanted to read. I would also be less likely to try to read things I wasn’t sure I’d like. My library has helped me broaden my taste in books!
