Well, this certainly sounds charming the way he's describing it here. When I read the review, I got a strong Enter The Void vibe from it and figured there was no way in heck I was going to see it. I mean, I thought ETV was great and all, but, just, never again, you know?

Best joke ever!

I really appreciate your detailed answer! Did it feel very strange to you to switch back to sleeping on a bed and also with someone?

So when you say "floor" here, do you mean a floor with a cushion on it? Or are you speaking of just laying directly on the floor to sleep, with maybe a blanket and pillow? I must know!

Just don't put one of those memory-foam toppers on any mattress you intend to have sex on. It's really great for sleeping on and really obnoxious for amorous activities!

South Carolina was just like that. I remember how exasperated my parents used to get when I would ask them to buy things on Sunday and I was too little to really grasp that it was against the law for the stores to be open (we were not a Christian household, so no one was trying to tell me anything about the Lord's Day

I recently rewatched the movies and I also felt that Fellowship was the best of them. I felt that it really holds up as a movie, but that they could really use some clean-up on the special effects. The pacing of the first movie is very good, with a good balance of character-setting and action.

So funny, I had believed blue laws were something we only had in the South. Used to be that Wal Mart could only open the grocery part of their stores on Sunday morning. They'd have the rest roped off and you'd hear them begging customers over the PA to please not shop the non-grocery side until after 2:00.

The book is excellent! I had only seen the movie and did not go into the book with high hopes, but it amazed me with how good it was. I saw the movie as a kid when it came out (my parents were pretty upset about the content and I was not allowed to see it again). I don't know how the book persuaded me to pick it up,

I'd be up for that too! Any Detroit peeps want to see this movie with friendly AV Clubbers?

It's been an ambition of mine to go see a movie by my lonesome. It sounds awesome, don't know why I haven't done it yet.

As you should. We are all counting on you!

People who are not from Michigan don't. It seems a really wierd choice for Token City Not On The Coast…

Move to Michigan. It's 70° out and nearly July!

Are you serious? I can't tell!

Come to Michigan. Too many homes have bay windows!

Can't agree with this enough! My feelings about it are so strong that I can't watch something like Stranger Things because it just reminds me of how ugly everything was when I was a kid.

Well, since you watched it, I got got to read your take on it, so thank you for that! Seriously, the show sounds awful but your write-up was a fun read nevertheless.

And all this time, I thought they were targeting my ads by listening through my phone's mic.

I learned that from Fullmetal Alchemist!
